About Jorge Fernandez, principal and founder of Applied Sense
Jorge joined the travel industry in 1984 after crossing over from a career in biological sciences. Starting in European tour management, he’s worked in diverse areas of the world and across most parts of that industry covering tour operations, wilderness guiding, wholesale, leisure, retail and corporate agencies; consultancy; marketing; and executive management.
Over the past 20 years, Jorge has held many senior executive roles across a number of industries leading to broad business insights. As an operations, performance and compliance specialist, Jorge was sought after in a number of diverse industries providing advisory and director level roles in digital transformation, technology remarketing and repurposing through to the hospitality, retail and executive leadership sectors. Jorge is a member and graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors providing advisory services to company boards.
